In order for you to qualify for this amazing offer from the United States government, you must purchase your home before April, 2010.
Of course, some guidelines do apply:
- The tax credit is worth $8,000 or 10% of the home’s purchase price, whichever is the lesser of the two.
- The tax credit can only be taken by home buyers who haven’t owned a home in the last three years.
- The tax credit is reduced for single home buyers earning more than $75,000, and married couples earning more than $150,000.
- The tax credit is not available to single home buyers earning more than $95,000 and married couples earning more than $170,000.
